Holiday Letter 2004
Seasons Greetings Holiday 2004
Dear Family and Friends,
Another year has gone by, and I have been anxious to tell you all about what my family and I have been doing. To get started, I would like to thank all of you who visited me and shared your time with my family during the year. This year was special for all of us, because my baby brother Matthew Ansel was born. My Mommy said, he was the best birthday present she ever got. We were all pretty excited when Ansel came home. He brought me a special present when he came home from the hospital, because he was very sorry for keeping me waiting. I have been a great big sister. I learned everything I needed to know in my, “Big Sister Class.” I have been helping my Mommy feed and change the baby. Ansel likes to look at me, and I like to make him smile. He doesn’t have any teeth, so I eat his candy for him. Thank you all for the thoughtful gifts you have sent for our baby.
I am in my second year of preschool, and I am still on the three day schedule. My new teacher is Miss Dolores. I have been doing well at school, and every day Miss Dolores gives me a star for my good behavior. At the end of the week, I get a prize. This year I made a new friend named Ariel. We did everything together. I was sad to hear she left school this month, but I was happy she came to my Princess birthday party. I have been making more new friends at school.
My Princess Birthday Party was a Royal Celebration! Some of my friends from school came, and my Cousin Alyssa, and friend Jill. We all wore our princess dresses. We played games and made crafts. I felt very special in my Cinderella dress. I had many presents and hugs and kisses. My friends and I had the best time. My princess party was the best party ever. I was happy to see my best friend Ariel for the last time, before she left school. I will miss her.
We went on a weekend trip to San Diego this February, and met Mommy’s friend Fathima Zahra Cader. She lives in Sri Lanka. My Mommy adores her, and has been her pen-pal for 21 years. My middle name is also Zahra, because Mommy named me after Fathima. I had fun jumping on Fathi’s bed. She was very nice. We introduced her to Mexican food, and she loved it!
Over the summer I joined a ballet class in Long Beach. I had fun wearing the tu-tu, and my ballet slippers. I also did some tap dancing. It was fun making new friends. I am looking forward to my Gymnastics classes coming in January.
My family and I spent a couple of days visiting Uncle Gilbert, Auntie Griselda and Gabriel at their home in Santa Maria, CA. We celebrated Thanksgiving with them and Grandma Sally. I had a blast playing with Gabriel. He is so funny. I really really like him.
Mommy has been learning to speak German for our 2006 vacation. Daddy has been working hard at his job, and helps our family and friends with their computers. He has been keeping busy around the house. We had our wood floors restored during the spring, and even had new paint inside our house. Our house looks really pretty, and my Mommy is always cleaning it. I have been helping her fold the baby’s towels and clothes. I can hang my own clothes and make my bed. I like to help Mommy dust, and I can clean up my own spills now. We said good bye to my sippy cups on my birthday, and it has been hard for me to drink my milk without them. I want to be a big girl, so I will use a cup from now on.
Well, that has been my year. I will have more to say in the next letter, with Ansel’s help. Until then, have a happy and healthy holiday season, and a prosperous New Year.
